for the Daoist Dark Goddess, Xi Wang Mu, also known as the Queen Mother of the West

WITH SPECIAL GUEST LECTURE BY LORIE EVE DECHAR, AUTHOR OF FIVE SPIRITS

Venus is in her Underworld passage and Mars has united with her behind the Sun,

marking our own culminating descent to catalyze the resurrection of our inner union.

Holding it all with a sternly accepting gaze is Xi Wang Mu,

our teacher and ally through this crossing from the Yin Wood Snake to the Yang Fire Horse.

Bowing to the Dark Goddess

In the closing weeks of Snake year and the opening weeks in the year of the Horse, this course is for those seeking a way to meet this turning point with full focus and potent attention.

The Dark Goddess is our main guide through this threshold. She teaches the necessity of death in order to be reborn, and does so in a uniquely impartial way— offering us not a moment of condemnation nor an ounce of praise— her way is an uncorrupted freedom from judgment.

The Qigong forms we’ll practice are specifically hers, calling on her profusion of animal familiars, including Phoenix, Snake, and Tiger— who, in this set, comes in to represent Xi Wang Mu herself.

The Yang Fire Horse is our guide and ally for the upcoming lunar new year, beginning on the second new moon of 2026— 17 February. Occurring once every 60 years, this double yang fire year is activating a time of great amplification and expansion.

Our ceremonial session will include a talk about the Yang Fire Horse and how we can invite this energy into our lives well, in combination with a potent Qigong practice to help us meet our new ally for the year ahead.
